continuity task

This task was a challenege to the class and especially to our group. It was bascially the first time we had to put a small film together, with the instruction to add various specific shots. The shots which we had to try to include at some point during this task were;

  • Establishing shot which we managed to do quite well, this was probably the easiest shot to do.
  • Another shot which we had to try and include were Close up shots which we managed but maybe not as well as we could have.
  • The Match on action shot was a little bit harder but i think we pulled it off, if we had longer on this task we may have been able to do this a bit better.
  • Reaction shot was quite a simple shot, i don't think we spent much time on this particular shit and it does show, although it works well within this task.
  • Long Shot, we managed to pull this task off i think
  • Filming a conversation was quite an interesting shot to do. We had a really good idea of what we wanted to film for this shot although it didn't work to plan but worked quite well.
  • Finally the last shot which we had to put into this was a 180 degree shot which does sounds the most complicated and was the most complicated. Although this was a complicated shot to do we did do it quite well.
There was a number of problems which we had to consider and encounter when doing this.

  • Other students were getting in the way while we were trying to shoot this, which meant we had a lot of un-wanted footage.
  • Another problem was a form teacher was getting in the way and distracting us from our filiming.
This meant that we had to re-take shots several times and did get repetitive.

If i was to do this again i would try and think about the storyline more and try to make it more appealing and exciting. Doing this task will help me and my group with the Thriller project as it will enable us to learn from our previous mistakes and do things which we may ot have done the first time round.
